The old traditions died when that zombie, this unbearable revenant Jamyl Sarum became the new empress. If not even the amarrian nobility honours the most holy doctrine of the sacred flesh why should we object to a leader of gallentean birth? Lone doesnt claim to be a king or an emperor but he is now our respected leader. Times and traditions are slowly changing and his new position reflects this.
Oh, my dear Constantinus, I quite sympathise with your position and it pleases me to see that figures within the CVA executor corporation see the matter in its true light.
Perhaps we may hope that such old traditions as the taking and holding of slaves will one day be up for such change? In the interim though, I must acknowledge that the esteemed Karn is correct to reflect that the attribute of the CVA of most concern is its continued adherence to tyranny and enslavement of others.
The Cosmopolite
The practice of slavery, or more importantly the spirit behind it is exactly what allows a great man like Lone to become our leader, despite his gallentean origin. The idea that everyone, no matter of his race or origin, will one day fight under one banner for the glory of god is the fundament of the amarrian empire. Slavery and the enlightenment gained trough it is just an intermediate step in this process which can be, in the case of certain exceptional individuals, evaded. So while one tradition has changed, the requirement to be a true Amarr to lead, the idea that made the Empire great, persists.
Of course, this can be taken too far like it has been, in my opinion, done with the current empress. While a nonamarrian subleaders like the CEO of the CVA or navy admirals or whatever can and should be possible to be of non true-amarrian origin it is, again in my opinion, necessary that the Emperor/Empress him/herself remains of true-amarrian stock. This may sound hypocritical but it needs to be aknowledged that the Emperor/Empress has an aditional, spiritual role as the representative of god almighty himself on this material world and it his hardly difficult to understand that only the purest of the pure can be choosen for such a role.
Lonewolf has no spiritual role, he is a great and wise leader of man and as such he deserves his current position regardles of his origins. To choose whose genetical makeup would be more pleasant for certain close minded hardliners but who is also less competent would be actualy counterproductive for our work, which at its core still follows the old god given tradition/task to unite all space under one benevolent rule.
